Let Me Breathe was written around a year before it was recorded. Atheen had been wanting to push herself vocally and knew that she wanted to incorporate a particularly high section at the end to express the anguish and frustration expressed in the lyrics. There’s also a Beatles-esque style cacophony of strings at the end to emphasise the fragile mental state being referred to in the song. It was intended that there would be a video where was Atheen was partially submerged in water, finally sinking underneath at the end. However when Kate Bush released an almost identical video in that same month, the idea was dropped.
